I am very selective on my deals since I charge a small carry and syndicating is quite a bit of work. Here are my syndication criteria:

1. Talented and dedicated team

2. Building a product/service that I can understand and help

3. Lower Risk. The company needs to have traction and has low dependency on particular platforms such as Facebook or Twitter and can articulate a clear path to scale up and succeed. Preferably, the company has launched 1+ years and has found their product/market fit.

4. Reasonable valuation. This is subjective but it's unlikely I would fund something with $10M valuation with no product.
