Luis Robles - Luis is the founder and managing director of VIENTO.ventures. He is an experienced technology investor and entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in Silicon Valley. He was previously a partner on Sequoia’s early-stage investment team where he focused on enterprise, cloud, security, and big-data related opportunities. He championed the firm's investments in MongoDB (IPO, $12B market cap), ThousandEyes ($1B exit), SpringPath ($420m exit), and CoreOS ($200m exit). He was also co-founder and VP of Products of Diamanti (enterprise Kubernetes infrastructure). Earlier in his career, Luis was an early member of the software engineering and product management staff at VMware, leading products that became important contributors to its IPO and ongoing success. He holds BS and MS degrees from Stanford in computer science, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. An avid surfer and kiteboarder, he prefers to be called a changemaker because he strongly believes “legacy venture capital” is broken and entrepreneurs deserve better.
