We are a syndicate led by a couple of Latin American investors with relevant operational, financial, and business strategy experience, and a deep network in the region. Our goal is to provide access to our LPs to high-quality deal-flow in Latin America while empowering local entrepreneurs through an additional funding source and our hands-on support.

Latin America has reached an inflection point for VC investment. A trend of an increasing number of ambitious entrepreneurs trained at top tech companies such as Amazon, Uber, and Rappi disrupting traditional industries was enhanced by COVID, which dramatically increased the usage of technology for both individuals and companies, in a region characterized by high smartphone penetration.

VC investment hasn’t fallen behind: total capital invested during Q2 2021 was $7.2B, 36% more than the total capital invested during 2020. However, considering its size and potential (650+ million people and a combined GDP twice the size of India’s and 40% of China’s), the region still lags behind in terms of VC investment vs other emerging markets (total VC investment in India and China during 2020 was 2.3x and 12.7x the one of Latam respectively).

We believe that recent statements of top-tier VC funds such as Sequoia, a16z, and Softbank indicating their optimism about the region only confirms the great opportunity in the region. Startups need capital at the very beginning to build businesses attractive enough for those funds to invest. That’s where we step in.
