Calculated Leap Ventures was founded by an entrepreneur turned investor.

We invest in deeptech.

We understand pre-commercial laboratory technology, and we know how to get it out of the lab.

We invest in technical founders.

We understand what it takes to make the leap from scientist to entrepreneur, and we support our founders as they do this.

We invest in the future.

We look for technologies that are going to change the world.

Our Beliefs:

Skin in the game. We have skin in the game in every deal we make. We want founders to have skin in the game, so we invest in entrepreneurs that have their money, time, and reputations in the game.
Deeptech. We invest in deeptech companies, that are based on technology arising from a lab bench, because we want to change the world.
Integrity. We value integrity. We offer it to those I work with, and we expect it from entrepreneurs and investors we work with.
Moonshots. We value the moonshot and the entrepreneurs that are taking them.
Long Term. We believe in long-term relationships because we expect to be around for the next 30 years.

Back some world-changing startups. Join the Calculated Leap syndicate here.

We will be syndicating along two themes:

DMV startups. Washington DC is the next big tech hub. With booming growth in cybersecurity, saas, the intel community, and the arrival of Amazon, we are on the cusp of creating the next great technology ecosystem. That growing tech community will deliver outsized returns. I will deliver these to my investors.
Deeptech Startups. The greatest impact, and greatest return, will be from companies in the deeptech arena, doing hard things, and building hard things. I want to be there with these entrepreneurs as they build these companies.

We have skin in the game. We make a significant commitment to each entrepreneur we back. We will not be syndicating anything we don't believe in enough to put our own capital into.
