Hi, I’m Matt Wilson, Founder & Managing Director at Allied VC.

About Me:

exited founder turned angel investor
former VC scout & startup advisor
100+ investments since 2012 with 7 exits (incl. Pinterest, Lyft)
venture capital & private equity certificate from Harvard Business School
VC Lab graduate for top global emerging managers

I started Allied in 2020 to share my dealflow after 8 years as an angel & VC scout.

I do my best to operate with the diligence & discipline of a top-tier VC firm, yet with the flexibility of a syndicate. With each deal, I provide all of the same information I would want as an investor trying to make an informed investment decision, and I’ve been repeatedly told Allied writes “the best deal memo in the industry.”

What Investors Are Saying:

Steve W., Syndicate Member

"I’ve known Matt five years. We have co-invested in probably 17 companies. He’s tremendously smart. Former founder himself. He writes the best deal memo I’ve seen. He’s the embodiment of the give first mentality. He goes out of his way to be helpful, even if he doesn't invest, and I just think he does business the right way."

Cansu & Birkan, Syndicate Members

“Your deal memo is one of the most detailed and well-written ones I’ve ever seen... I’m blown away by the level of detail you shared. Thank you so much for sharing your detailed due diligence.”

Chris M., Syndicate Member

“I’d like to thank you for the depth of this deal memo. I’ve been investing full-time for nearly a decade and only recently got involved with syndicates. The extent of deal flow and opportunity for diversification is attractive but often comes at the cost of founder access and the ability to perform full due diligence. The thorough work you’ve shared is a welcome change from the rehashed decks often provided.”

Guy A., Syndicate Member

“Hi Matthew. I was recommended to your syndicate via an existing LP. I am looking for high-quality deal flow and your syndicate comes highly recommended. I am a professional investor in public equities, and turned my sights to angel investing at the beginning of this year.”

Andrew B., Syndicate Member

“Matt. I would like to thank you for sharing this company update. It made my day. I am an investor via another syndicate and they have never sent a single update letter. I appreciate you so much for sending this.”

Tousif S., Syndicate Member

"Thanks for sharing Matt. I don't see any other syndicates share LP updates on any deals. It is important to take LPs through the journey and you do that!!"
