Scholar Ventures is an early-stage scientific deep-tech venture firm (from pre-seed to Series C) that partners with premier universities and institutions globally and is led by a team of tech-savvy MDs & PhDs from Oxford, Cambridge, and London.
We invest across deep-tech, biotech, fintech, proptech and cleantech startups that solve challenging problems with scalable AI-driven solutions.

Our Team
We bring a diverse set of experience and skills to the table. We have experience reviewing numerous start-up companies. By researching several deals and industries, we are developing a robust framework for evaluating founders and companies. We look to source our deals from premier universities and institutions we’re part of and those spanning our network. We’re looking to build a research database that contains all the key metrics, valuations, and takeaways from all the past deals we have looked at.
A third-year PhD student at the University of Cambridge, specialising in physics with a diverse background in sensors (MRes from Cambridge University), nanotechnology, regenerative medicine (MSc from UCL), biotechnology (BSc from the University of Colorado - Denver), and diagnostics (current involvement in a deep tech startup). Mohammed is also a four-time deep tech founder.
A final-year PhD candidate at Oxford University, Abdullah's research focuses on cleantech and utilises ML algorithms for quantification. He has co-founded two ventures in cleantech and proptech and brings previous experience from Bain, NEOM, and project finance funds.
Currently a doctor at King’s College Hospital, Reza holds a background in nanotechnology & regenerative medicine (MSc UCL) and synthetic biology (UoW) and is actively involved in MedTech ventures (participation in a current deep tech startup and leadership programmes).

- Delivering business valuation and strategic consulting
- Maintaining a knowledge base of trends in the startup industry
- Supporting founders in building customer-centric products
- Assisting in marketing the startup’s product by inviting a broad group of syndicate investors
We will co-invest with many UK, USA, and MENA investors.
Dealflow
We are opportunistically sourcing deals and aim to support the funding of around 12 startups annually.
