This is a private syndicate based in New York City, initially open to friends and advisors. Other people are welcome to join, especially if you can add value in ways other than money. In fact, we value people over money, so please reach out to me if you have an interest.
Please also note that my friends and I will personally backstop every deal I post here. So by the time it is posted, we have decided to go forward and it will get done.
I am not posting this syndicate publicly until we have sufficient deal flow that we are allowed to share. So far, every deal has been oversubscribed and moved too quickly, but I hope that will change going forward.
For those of you new to Angel List, there is no obligation to invest a dime by joining. You get access to see what we are doing and agree to keep everything private. If you do invest, there is a 20% success fee after you get your money back. There is no management fee. SPV setup costs are about $8,000 shared pro-rata across all investors.
While I am new to the area of fund management, I am not new to investing nor entrepreneurship. I have co-founded three companies, all of which were profitable and successful (not including my high-school floor polishing business).
One company sold in a $300m cash deal. Another company was ranked one of the top 10 fastest growing technology companies in New York by Deloitte & Touche. The 3rd company is a successful midsize law firm in New York City, representing major International clients in bet-the-company litigation.
In addition to the above, I have also been a successful investor personally.
Success didn't just float down from the sky. I made a lot of mistakes - and learned from them. I have started a few seriously dumb businesses - but we still made money due to pure execution and delivering for our customers.
We often started in shrinking markets, had no capital, no advisors, no real plan, were young and dumb, yet could pivot – but had no idea what to pivot to. It’s as if we took the VC checklist of what they look for in a business, and did the opposite.
So today - after a properly bruising (and rewarding) entrepreneurial education - I look for companies with traction and super, experienced teams in spaces with tailwind and solid market strategy backed by teams or VC firms I know, or are invested with personally.

I will syndicate everything that I can that is appropriate in terms of size and VC signaling.
