Capier Investments is an early-stage venture fund that has been investing since 2015. Since its inception, the fund has invested across debt, equity, and funds delivering ~20% IRR+. The core team has 60+ years of experience, with 40+ portfolio companies, and 2 of them namely Paytm and OfBusiness becoming unicorns.

As an extension, we are excited to introduce the Capier Investments syndicate. This is an opportunity for serious investors beyond our LPs who appreciate good curated deals. These deals will be sector agnostic Pre Series A opportunities focussed on the Indian subcontinent. The syndicate will provide 1-2 deals every quarter and that also only if we are convinced. Our intention is to bring some of the best start-up deals in the early-stage play. The syndicate leads will be -

1. Rohit M.A.- Capier Investments was founded by Rohit M.A. who is also the Co-Founder of Cloudnine hospitals (20+ strong hospital chain) that went ahead and raised capital from marquee investors like True North, Sequoia Capital, and Matrix Partners. He will be the lead on the syndicate
2. Samit Khanna - Samit has been a founder and growth operator with 15 years of experience. He is an active angel investor and brings his experience of Private Equity operations (True North), as well as building and scaling D2C businesses across Yum brands & Disney Hotstar. He will be the co-lead on the syndicate

Having collectively evaluated 3k+ startups and made 60+ investments, we have built strong mental models which make us confident about what we will present.

Our investment thesis is simple -

1. Track big predictable TAM segments while also keeping an eye on good teams trying to disrupt current small markets. We believe good founders can iterate to also grow small existing markets
2. Back gold standard founders vetted by their pedigree, experience, execution bias, and us knowing them. At the end of the day, they create the magic. Beyond these, we will also back founders who reflect massive conviction in their vision, hustlers to change the world while being open to learning and leveraging our network
3. Strong personal conviction arrived basis our experience of creating and scaling businesses as well as having seen 3k+ pitches and current portfolio learnings

We are sector agnostic and enjoy a great deal flow access through strong networks including super angels, founder circles, relationships with marquee VCs, and industry connections. Our sourcing pillars enable quality and early access which is critical in this space.
