By focusing on seed stage companies that provide a scalable technology-based solution to a significant and important societal problem, we hope to provide financial returns to investors while improving the lives of many others. The investments must both be a good investment opportunity for financial returns and also a good investment opportunity for social good. Given the magnitude of opportunity and potential for large rewards, some of the companies will be inherently more risky than other AngelList investments.
Miles is an Investor in early-stage startups. He has invested in and advised dozens of companies at the earliest stages including Altschool, Honor, Remix, Vivaa Health, Literably and Thunder.
Starting his career as an entrepreneur while still a college student, he co-founded Higher One in his living room. As senior exec and later board chair, he led the company from idea to $200mil+ revenue, ~1000 employees and IPO including making multiple acquisitions. He was proud to campaign internal culture and values including open communication and client service. Higher One also ranked highly on the national Great Place to Work list twice as well as Inc 500 and multiple other fast growth lists. Miles was an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year regional winner and national finalist.
Miles went on to start two other venture-backed startups: SeeClickFix (SaaS for government) where he serves on the board and OneUni (higher education education via smartphone).
Heartfelt Ventures will be syndicating deals where we have enough allocation and we welcome your support. Investments may include certified B Corps and Public Benefit Corporations.
