What I'm seeing now, just like in 2006 when YCombinator was getting started in Cambridge, is a huge frustration with existing sources of institutional funding.

There's a huge opportunity to back hungry new Scientist-Founders ready and willing to lead, and we should back them.

Deal flow comes from many places, but mostly my MIT network, other YCombinator alumni, friends at funds, and throwing a lot of parties in Boston.
