I've worked closely with founders in many fields. I was a seed investor in
- Seed in NuvoCargo (NFX, QED)
- Seed in ShipBob (Menlo Ventures, SoftBank)
- Seed in Zenefits (a16z, Fidelity)
- Seed in Gecko Robotics (Founders Fund, Drive Capital)
- Seed in RvX (Thiel Capital, Founders Fund)
I'm prepared to write seed checks in any market that has the potential to truly change the world.
Before becoming an investor, I've written the first version of Dropbox's LanSync protocol ($12bn) as employee #11, designed algorithms and wrote the software for Europe's largest food delivery company (Mjam/Delivery Hero, $32bn), ran simulations on availability for Uber ($95.6bn) in 2009, and have been among the first customers for many companies that later became my portfolio companies.
I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty: When I was new to Biotech, I've initially spent several months working in a laminar flow hood in a lab of one of my future portfolio companies until I was able to hands-on edit the genome of a virus myself, and only then I started writing checks.
Right now I'm seeing a massive increase in Dealflow, which means my syndicate is likely to get busy and I might start a rolling fund in the near future as well.
I like to invest in marketplaces and defensible technologies across a variety of sectors. I'm especially excited about interesting distribution and customer acquisition strategies, as well as the commercialization of deep tech.
I have an incredible network to draw from and like to put together dinner parties around to globe where I can learn from experts. Occasionally I also put teams together to tackle exciting markets once the technology and market are ripe for it.
