Note from Nate and Rosie Lipscomb
Before he passed away, Nate Lipscomb was focused on syndicating investments in mission-driven teams that are building businesses that help society. He invested across sectors, with a focus on companies and founders in biotech, fintech, and sustainability, including in the developing world. He made a meaningful personal investment in every deal that he syndicated so his co-investors would be confident that their interests were aligned. At YouTube, Nate led a team of product counsels that advise our product, engineering, and business teams across product, content, and creator verticals. Prior to joining YouTube, he worked on Google products for students, kids, and families. Before Google, he founded edtech startup Knowbility.

Today, while the syndicate is no longer active or soliciting funds, Nate’s wife Rosie manages the current investments made through Angellist and helps founders both at these companies and beyond by offering her expertise, resources and time. At Google, Rosie leads the antitrust team for the Americas, advising business and product teams on how to work creatively to achieve their objectives while complying with the law as it constantly shifts. She is also on the editorial board of the Antitrust Law Journal and a member of the business steering committee at Concurrence. She is a board advisor across sectors and started her career as a teacher.

Investment summary:
Since launching in June 2021, our syndicate has invested in Baubap (YC S21), marketfeed (YC S21), Moonshot Brands (YC W21), Redcliffe Lifetech (YC W21), Fingo (YC S21), Lernit (YC S21), Codingal (YC W21), Anfin (YC W22), Plerk (YC S20), ZAX, Dastgyr, and Ola.

Our direct pre-seed & seed investments include: Juni Learning (YC W18, later raised Series A in 2020), Moonshot Brands (YC W21, later raised Series A in 2022), Redcliffe Lifetech (YC W21, later raised Series B in 2022), AN2 Therapeutics (later raised Series B in 2022), Stealth startup (later raised Series A in 2021), Sprout (YC S21), trii (YC S21), Stack (YC S21), Codingal (YC W21), Kidato (YC W21), Recover (YC W21), Ziina (YC W21), Kredi (YC W21), Orbillion (YC W21), Entelexo (YC W21), NewZip (YC W21), Defy (YC S21), Advantage Club (YC S21), Pide Directo (YC S21), and marketfeed (YC S21).
The companies that we've made direct investments have also been backed by notable co-investors and follow-on investors including Sequoia, Global Founders Capital, Lightspeed, Index, Shasta, Pear VC, Graph Ventures, Goodwater, Forerunner, Liquid 2, FJ Labs, Canary, Anthemis, and YC Continuity Fund.

Anyone considering a future investment in opportunities should understand that these investments represent absolute risk, and there is a meaningful risk that they can lose all their money. There is no guarantee of a "soft landing" or acquisition if things do not go as planned. In addition, there is no guarantee that, even in a successful company, there will be opportunity for liquidity for the shares represented and an investor should be prepared to have their capital committed for ten years or more without liquidity (and potentially forever).

I will syndicate deals in which I've already decided to invest directly and for which I'm able to secure an adequate allocation.
