The winners of the Connected Industry have yet to emerge. We agree with Gartner that more than half of the IoT solutions by 2017 will emerge from companies less than three years old. We believe these disruptors will likely emerge outside of today’s technology centers and industry leaders. Our goal is to identify, cultivate these companies and to help them reach their full potential in the Connected Industry. We look for disruptive ideas, healthy teams and product, market and commercial traction. Our focus is seed stage companies that provide critical, enabling components or platforms accompanied by scalable, recurring revenue models – or that provide solutions into the agriculture technology, energy, manufacturing, retail or smart cities space. More than simply investing capital in these companies, we take an active role in cultivating them, removing risk before bringing in other investors. Instead of a mass incubate or accelerate, one-size-fits-all approach, we provide tailored value production help when and where they need it to solidify their position and drive accelerated and sustainable growth. We work with them to define their promise, position, placement, partners and pipeline, as well as introducing them to investors, customers and new team members. As they grow, we act as advisors, supporting their strategic and operational paths for growth. We ultimately connect them with potential strategic exit partners.
