Medici Ventures (aka Medicis of Miami) is a venture fund that’s focused on investing in good humans who are building good products.
The Medicis were a family that owned the bank in Florence leading into the Golden Ages. While they dealt with money, they believed that to build a great society you need the intersection of creativity, compassion, and culture. And so they funded not just business endeavors, but also the arts including patronizing Leonardo DiVinci. It was also the beginning of humanism, which simply put was about how to be good to yourself, your family, and thy neighbor. This led to the Renaissance that while birthed in Florence, impacted the entire world for the better.
We believe that Miami will be the source of the modern day Renaissance. This is because Miami has the governance of the US, the beautiful Latin culture which values community and living life to the fullest. People are moving from New York, Los Angeles, Washington, and San Francisco, not to mention other parts of the world to Miami to be part of this magic.
So at Medici Ventures we are here to not just invest in high growth technology startups but in the ecosystem because we believe that it's the combination of art, culture, and innovation that will make for the next great company but more importantly the place that makes us all better humans.

We look for three things in an investment:
Good Humans
There is a lot of talk about being a founder first or investing in a team, but we find that often equates down to where they went to school or what previous company they work for. What Medici VC is better than anyone else at is understanding if someone is a good human. To us this means that you are kind to yourself, and thus others. That you have an insatiable curiosity that leads you to action. And you default to ‘yes’ in others and yourself, meaning you always assume the best, but aren't blissfully ignorant.
Impactful Product
True to the Medicis, we want to invest in products that focus on creativity, community and culture. This can feel broad, but it means we look at products we believe very directly enable us to be better humans and evolve. This often leads us to invest in mental wellness, web3, NFTs, education, and health.
Miami
Selfishly we want to be around (yes physically) good people as we believe that if we rub off on each other, we will make each other better, which makes our companies better, which makes our products better, which makes the world better. So while we live in a global, remote, transient world, we want to invest in companies that participate in the Miami ecosystem. Because, well, if we can convince more and more of you to come to Miami, well then why would we want to leave.
