OK - here is the straight skinny - I invest in companies that do amazing stuff. I invest in stuff that leverages data and AI to make a difference. I invest in stuff that helps companies boost their revenues and profits. I invest in great brands with great missions. I invest in companies that invest in their people. I invest in companies that make a difference in the lives of their customers (or their customer's customers) , in the lives of their employees, and that make a difference in their ecosystem. I also invest in stuff that I think is amazing - regardless of industry.
However, for the time being, I am going to stick close to home - which means that I will be investing in the areas which have defined my career: e-commerce, retail, marketplaces, adtech, martech, and B2BSaaS.
By the way, as you know, early stage investing is really tricky. You should have a high risk tolerance, and know that these investments can be illiquid for a long time.

INVESTMENT THESIS
Consumers and businesses are engaged in a massive and ongoing shift to online engagement, consumption, consummation and feedback. This, obviously, isn't slowing down. And while there is some sense that universe has been conquered already and that Amazon has won e-commerce, and Google/FB have won advertising, there are vibrant eco-systems within these large platform universes that will continue to drive efficiency and scale in customer acquisition in both B2C & B2B contexts. Additionally, the immense amount of data that is created by a diversity of acquisition and retention channels needs to be managed, analyzed and acted upon.
It is in this matrix - the connection between acquisition/retention marketing, client/customer data, and analytics at scale that will continue to create enormous value within verticals, but also broadly in the digital world.
