I’m a people person: As an investor focused on early-stage companies, I’m interested not just in the business model and financials, but in the people and relationships that I believe are critical to success. In my view, helping develop a company’s leadership team is just as important as ensuring the numbers adds up. This includes mentorship, guidance, and hands-on support of founders with my experience and network. I know marketplace businesses and slow industries: I look for market opportunities that intersect with my expertise in marketplace businesses and industries that have been historically slow to adopt software solutions. My experience at Airbnb and Hired has given me deep insights into the mechanics of both starting and scaling a marketplace business. My background starting and selling Upside (an online investment manager serving financial advisors) gives me experience in an antiquated, regulated industry that was slow to react to new advances in technology and emerging business models.
My goal will to try and share every deal where the founders are open to syndication and I have an allocation to match.
