INTRO

I’m an early Facebooker (2007-2011), former fbFund, serial entrepreneur, and now angel investor and startup advisor with Kayak Ventures investing in pre-seed and seed companies in the tech and climate space.

INVESTING PHILOSOPHY

We look for startups that have 1) great founding teams, 2) industry-defining products, and 3) a large addressable market.

INVESTING FOCUS

FOR TECH- we focus on companies that build platforms, dev tools, and consumer tech.

FOR CLIMATE- we focus on companies building innovative solutions for carbon sequestration and removal.

BACKGROUND

I’ve worked with 100+ startups over the last decade. I joined Facebook in 2007 when it was 200 people and spent most of my time working on the Platform team working with entrepreneurs and developers.

I was also part of Facebook’s two person fbFund team funded by Accel and Founders Fund. We helped fund Lyft (IPO-ed), Taskrabbit (acq. by IKEA), Life 360 (IPO-ed), and Wildfire (acq. by Google) as well 50+ other teams when they were 2-4 people. fbFund also helped run one of the first accelerators.

I also spent 8+ years as a founder and CEO myself in a few startups in the social good, travel, and fashion space. I’ve gone on to inspire and help start Startup UCLA which is now in its 9th year.

On the advisor side, I bring my own founder knowledge to help companies get through their "firsts" (first product, first fundraise, first launch etc.). Given this, I often meet teams in their first 1-2 years as a company and help them grow and get to the next level.
