I was a seed investor at several unicorns at Pascal Capital, where we had top quartile performance, worked at a secondary-focused fund leveraging the geopolitical tension between the US and China, and built a $7M angel syndicate fund before starting my own venture fund. Over 40% of my syndicate portfolio consists of female cofounders, and my investment thesis for the syndicate is really the people -- you will see a consistency in that the people I have invested in have walked extraordinary paths in life or gone through a really difficult moments and looked to relieve the stress from those difficult times through their startups, whether that be solving the problem that gave them a hard time or looking to defy the odds that have been set on them. The other is if they are working on a project that will improve the world even if they fail, as that will be the best form of tax write-off charity. I will continue having a pipeline of these, as I have a close relationship with many founders and regularly get referrals from those who like my investment philosophy.
