FinTech Angels is a syndicate led by angel investors Sean Bill and Luke Powell. As of June 30, 2022 the syndicate has an IRR of 31.50% and a TVPI of 3.04 across 15 investments. The FinTech Angels syndicate launched in 2014 and began syndicating investments on Angel List in January of 2015, it has outperformed its peer group on Angel List in 5 out of 8 years since the syndicate's inception, link.
The syndicate initially focused on FinTech 2.0 opportunities, where technology was used to improve outcomes within legacy financial verticals, we still believe that there is a lot of work to be done in this area. But the mandate has evolved to include blockchain, decentralized finance and Web 3.0 technologies. Today we believe that open finance and Web 3.0 technologies will transform financial services as we know them today and that this mega-trend will last for decades. Over the next 2 - 4 years we expect to syndicate another 15 - 20 companies.

The FinTech Angels Team has invested in over 100 deals on the Angel List platform as we seek to support entrepreneurs and the FinTech ecosystem more broadly. We syndicate Seed and Series A deals when the Team has received an allocation of $100,000 or more from a company or DAO, pending approval from Angel List.
It is our intention to bring forward 15 - 20 truly exceptional FinTech companies over the next 2 - 4 years for syndication. Ideally, backers should size their investments accordingly, to create a portfolio and to leave capacity for follow on investments. If you are new to the space we highly recommend that you read Jason Calacanis' book Angel and take his Angel University class.
Finally, you should be comfortable with the risk that you are embracing when you invest in our syndicated deals and only invest what you can afford to lose.
