Since we began in 2014 we’ve invested over $1.5m of our own money in some of Africa’s best performing portfolio companies such as Andela, Flutterwave, 54Gene, Kobo360, Lori Systems, amongst others. Our portfolio has grown 8x to over $12m in assets under management with a IRR of 51.6%. Our startups have grown to $1.2 billion of company value, raised $300 million in follow-on capital, made $120 million in annual revenues and created over 3,000 jobs.
We are inviting you to join us in directly investing in our proprietary deal flow of amazing companies who are recession proof. In fact two of our best performing portfolio companies, Andela and Flutterwave were born during recessions, so we know how to build great businesses in hard times. This effort is to engage our community of Angel List investors to double down on our wins so we can extend more active funding support to our portfolio.
We typically invest in companies very early and are usually the first or second check. Our standard deal is up to $50,000 for between 1 - 10% of equity while keeping pro-rata rights. Most of our syndicated deals are sourced from the pipeline of companies we make early stage seed investments in. Our plan is to syndicate all our deals to fulfill our pro-rata.
