The CTC syndicate team is made up of a group of investors who are passionate in their belief that technology can and will have a direct, positive impact on the climate crisis.
Matthew Myers has spent years building up the climate community by founding the Climate Tech Cocktails podcast and making investments through the aforementioned rolling fund. He was previously the founder of E-Capital Summit and a former advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Chief Commercialization Officer. Matthew has invested through the rolling fund alongside Andreessen Horowitz, Azolla, Congruent Ventures, Founders Fund, Lowercarbon Capital, and Prelude Ventures to name a few.
Hyukmin Kwon (HK) has founded, operated, and exited multiple deep tech startups. His proven track record in scaling startups helps him spot high-potential startups and provides significant value to his portfolio companies. He brings deep technical knowledge to the team as an expert in materials and manufacturing, holding an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and MIT, respectively.
Courtney Hutchison is the CEO and Founder of Hutch Impact Advisors, helping the top impact funds with investment diligence, research, and raising capital. She has invested in companies aiming to make the world a better place while driving returns throughout asset classes through her roles at hedge funds, private equity firms, and even a SPAC sponsor team. She holds a B.A. and M.Sc. focused on Environmental Science and Sustainable Finance from Penn and Columbia, respectively.
Dan Aliber is a recent MBA graduate from Georgetown McDonough. During his MBA he worked as a Venture Fellow at Halcyon Venture Partners, an impact fund focused on Climate, Health, and Equity Tech with an associated incubator program. Prior to his MBA, he spent 4 years at a B2B SaaS company helping to build their product management team and drive the strategic roadmap. He holds a B.A. in Economics and French from the University of Rochester.
Rob Gardiner is a recent MBA graduate from UCLA Anderson where he pursued a concentration in Sustainability. He has worked as a consultant providing dilligence and insights for investors seeking positions in in innovative climate companies. He has also worked for a distributed energy developer, working with corporates to optimize a clean energy procurement strategy. Prior to his MBA, he worked at JP Morgan for 4.5 years, and holds a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College.
