This is your opportunity to access tech-forward companies from a region that is often overlooked. Why Central Florida?
- Modeling, Simulation, and Training Capital of the World: Orlando's Simulation Ecosystem Attracts Billions in Contracts
- Space & Beyond: NASA is one of the leading incubators of aerospace technology and supply companies. We are so much more than NASA. The concentration of talent and expertise has contributed to a significant number of startups in this region.
- NASA Technology: Several Universities in the area have partnerships with NASA to commercialize its patents and technologies. ecoSPEARS is one example of the many companies in the area that have benefited from this program.
- Sports/Health Tech: Lake Nona is a high-tech community with a focus on innovation. One of the core focuses is on sports & health technology. They seek out physical campuses for national sports organizations, such as the USTA national training campus, which was recently located here. Additionally, Lake Nona is partnering with companies to foster innovation. One such example is the LeAD Sports Accelerator, a partnership with members of the Adidas family and based out of Germany.
Focus:
This syndicate will identify companies in the industries where Central Florida has a technical & human capital advantage. There are two primary types of deals we will bring:
(Note: We have avoided the use of Seed, Series A, etc. because there is a different meaning to different people)
- Early Stage: We will look to be the first money-in for early-stage companies with proven technology and a path to market. This raise will be the investment to commercialize the technology. We will be the lead in most deals, and it will generally be in the form of a Safe or Kiss
- Growth Stage: Once the technology has been commercialized, most companies will need significant capital for rapid expansion. We will be participating with either our Pro-Rata or using our relationship to gain an allocation in a round. We will not be the lead investor and, in many cases, assist the company in identifying larger funds that can be a strategic lead.
About Me: A hidden gem in a hidden market
(I love making new connections reach out and let's talk)
Futurist meets commercialization. Classically trained in finance and entrepreneurship, my skillset is in creating organizations that are prepared to scale. I have successfully exited my own company and now spend time in the entrepreneurship community helping others achieve their dreams. Challenging and connecting are two of my greatest strengths that I can lend to companies. #GiveFirst is the motto by which I have always subscribed.
Born in Orlando, raised in Alabama, I returned in 2002 for my MBA at Rollins College. Since then, Central Florida has been my home. My success comes from my involvement in the plethora of organizations within our community. By showing up, participating, and mentoring, I have created relationships that allow me to collaborate across the community. It is about first providing resources to create success for companies and secondly provide opportunities for the syndicate to participate.
Deals are sourced through my involvement within the Central Florida innovation ecosystem. Broad areas include:
- University Relationships
- Incubators & Accelerators
- Mentorship Opportunities
- LP Networks
- My deep 20+ years of relationships within the community
