Note from Tim Bratton
As a founder or numerous Silicon Valley startups over the years including of one of the few music startups to survive the .com crash and ultimately become one of the most widely acclaimed digital music services (Rhapsody) I know it takes for a startup to succesful.
When making investments I look for the qualities in the founding team that I've seen time and time again in companies that make it. There's a set of basic criteria of intellgence, team building skills, dedication and perserverance it takes to find success as an entreprenuer. There's also a need for an unfair advantage... usually some combination of defensible technology, industry experience, and a unique insight or understanding about the market that is required before I'll even consider an investment.
Don't invest more than you can afford to lose. Altough I'll do my best to find winners, there is no guarantee that every investment I find will be a winner. Angel investing is risky.

I will typically share deals with the syndicate, but there may be some cases where it won't be possible.
