We invest in companies researching and developing a new source of energy: fusion. Fusion energy reactors smash hydrogen atoms together to create extremely high energy outputs. Fusion is the physical process behind the sun's energy, but there are a number of challenges to producing commercially viable fusion reactions here on Earth. Scientists and engineers have been working on the fusion problem for decades, and some people believe modern advances in materials engineering, machine learning, and simulation will bring about a fusion energy revolution and disrupt the $30T/yr global energy market. This fusion process generates no CO2 and no greenhouse gases. Unlike fission, fusion has no problems with radioactive waste, and it is impossible for a fusion reactor meltdown. Fusion reactions do not use uranium, plutonium, or other radioisotopes typically used in high-yield nuclear weapons.
