Thanks for your interest in my syndicate. Please allow me to introduce the strategy behind my angel investments, share some of the methods used to select them and highlight the results they have achieved.
My angel investment strategy is simple: find great early stage companies with clear, upside exit potential and invest in them once or twice. Such companies usually have proven teams, operate in ascendant markets, have well-defined (and often well-protected) advantages over their competition and enjoy measurable traction in the marketplace.
Each of my investments is evaluated using a proprietary scoring system refined since 2007. The system analyzes various investment criteria across several key categories related to early stage investing. It then produces a series of scores which are useful for evaluating investment prospects as stand-alone opportunities or alongside other current or historical opportunities.
11 of my 45 investments across 35 companies have exited (including four IPO and seven acquisition investments), 24 continue to operate and 10 have wound down. This represents an 11% IPO rate, 24% exit rate and 53% still operating rate, several at robust step-up valuations with acquisition or IPO exits anticipated.
