As a co-founder of Fivestars, one of the YC top 100, I've developed deep experience across SMB, engineering platforms, and, most recently, payments, where I led our transformation from a pure-play SaaS startup to a payments platform with both SaaS and processing revenue streams. I think we're at the beginning of a major trend in the SaaS space where companies like Fivestars will start incorporating payment flows into core parts of their product experiences, and in the process, become payment companies. My goal as a syndicate lead is to identify and back players in the space, including
- SaaS plays that could dramatically grow TAM by bringing in payments
- Startups in the payments ecosystem that are powering this next-generation of product-first payment companies
- SMB players that I identify as leaders in their field by virtue of leading business development for Fivestars
