We have three main pillars for sourcing deals:

1. Portfolio companies from our network of 1,500+ investors within Confluence.VC. The majority of these investors are junior (analyst, associate, principal) and do not receive meaningful carry from their funds. We want to reward them for bringing vetted deals to our syndicate by exchanging carry out our pockets.
2. Companies which our members leave VC roles to join. Breaking into venture is a painful process, so leaving a venture role to join a startup is a strong signal. We have developed relationships with these investors before they join rocket ship startups, and this gives us a way into competitive rounds.
3. Inbound from media. Our podcasts lets us talk to the next era of investors and operators each week. Each week, we get to build relationships with people worth betting on, and we leverage these relationships to secure tough allocations. We also work closely with a number of paid media partnerships, and we plan to reinvest profits from these partnerships back into the businesses that support us.
