Taking advantage of opportunities, deal by deal, as they arise while we raise the main Badhouse Ventures LP fund. Our thesis is centered on increasing the chance of founder success by providing hands-on support (by a network of former startup founders & operators, starting with Badhouse's Managing Director, Ralph Baddour) to software-focused pre-seed ventures. Aiming to invest first, or along with others in a first raise post friends & family, in scalable ventures with a potential to achieve a VC-led fundraising round within 12 months.
Areas of focus: "smarter communities" (the changing nature of work, environmental sustainability, etc.) and "smarter data systems" (security, traceability, decentralization, etc.)
We shortlist ventures via online pitch events that we organize (badhouse.ca/pitch) and via referrals from trusted startup founders in our network.
